Abstract

|
Hernia through the foramen of Bochdalek is the most common type of congenital diaphragmatic hernia, and it is one of the surgical emergencies in the newborn.
The foramen of Bochdalek is a defect of variable size in the posterolateral portion of the diaphramore frequently on the left, embriologically due to incomplete fusion of pleuroperitoneal Inemtti

The motality fate rises with delay in surgical intervention and in the presence of other congenital a3ioinal es; inspite of recent reinfinements in surgical techniques. Thus early effective surgical tt atfi of t is very important.
Recently we saw a 9 month old infant with a left pochdalek hernia, organoaxial rotation of the stomach, and abnormal location of cecum and ascending colon. We report this case, and review and discuss the literature.
